Dream you’re mine

The journey from miscarriage to whatever comes next

About April 9, 2008

I’m a 39 year old who has had five miscarriages in 15 months and looking for some understanding, peace and hope.  Although it feels like that defines who I am now, I’m also a lover of animals, knitting, running, music, outdoorsy stuff, books, red wine, Summit beer and ice cream.

I just searched the internet 4 miscarriages and your blog came up. I am 39 and have had 4 m/c and wondering what to do. I am starting to look into adoption, and I read you were looking into it and are now pregnant. Your words have inspired me and given me hope. Thanks for sharing your painful and heartbreaking journey.

I came across your blog because I was searching for stories of women who had experienced multiple miscarriages. I too am 39 and have suffered 4 miscarriages in 12 months – two chemical pregnancies and two missed miscarriages requiring D&C at 9 weeks. I seem to have had every test possible with normal results on everything except for Natural Killer Cells – which seem to divide the medical community. Its hard to know how to think or feel anymore about the whole process, but I am so pleased that you have made it past the 12 week stage. It gives me hope.

    Hi there –

I started off the New Year this morning with a Google search: “Success after 4 miscarriages”. Your amazing blog came up and gave me the hope I was looking for. I’ve had four losses (two missed m/c and two chemical pregnancies), every test known to man, and no explanation. We’ve been approved for domestic adoption, and I’ve been given a prescription for progesterone, baby aspirin, and Fragmin for my next pregnancy (despite having no abnormal test results). Here’s hoping that 2010 will bring a child into our lives, one way or another.

If you’re still reading this blog, I have to ask if you took any medication for your last (and successful!) pregnancy?

I, too, found your blog after searching for success after multiple miscarriages. I’ve had four…it’s really, really hard, but your blog gave me hope. I read most of it and cried because I could so relate. I’m 38 now. We’re trying for our first.

I found that Jackeline Laurita (spelling) from the R.H.O.N.J. had five miscarriages and then a successful pregnancy, so did the lady at http://www.babyfruit.com, the wife in “Coming to Term” (non fiction), and the woman in “Waiting for Daisy” (also non fiction). There are stories of hope, so I’m not giving up, and I’m so glad you took the time to write.
